The
Residences at Lynn House is a sanctuary
for the progressive practice of Christian Science. Here
you, along with other active students of Christian Science,
can find sheltered living with the availability of light
Christian Science nursing care and support.
At
The Residences, you can fashion
a simple, lovely home in a prayerful community - a spiritually
nurturing atmosphere supporting growth and regeneration.
Located on the lovely, rolling grounds of Lynn House,
The Residences is situated
in a quiet neighborhood, just 15 minutes from downtown
Washington, DC. Residents will discover a wide range
of resources for shopping and activities easily available
in the area. For example, Ford Ward Park, just across
the street, provides a wonderful place to stroll and
to attend outdoor concerts and events.
The
Residences at Lynn House is eager to welcome
you!
There are six beautiful single rooms available, where
you may bring your treasured furnishings and truly make
the space your own.
There is a lovely Common Room with a fireplace, a craft
and activity area, a
modern, fully-appointed kitchen for making snacks and
treats, as well as a
small parlor for intimate gatherings or family visits.
A Fresh Idea of Sheltered Living
As practicing Christian Scientists, residents
and staff do not accept declining health and the need
for ongoing nursing care as an inevitable outcome of
advancing years, but affirm the continuity of spiritual
growth, timeless being, health, independence, and dominion.
Therefore,
The Residences is not considered
a "continuing care facility", and there is
no predetermined length of stay.
The
Residences has developed as a distinct
ministry of Lynn House of Potomac Valley, Inc. It is
undergirded by the Lynn House nursing mission - to cherish
the practice of Christian Science, as discovered by
Mary Baker Eddy, with its expectancy of quick and whole
healing, and to provide spiritually-based nursing care
that is in accordance with the Manual of The Mother
Church by Mary Baker Eddy.
