Area
Served
Located near our Nation's capital, Lynn House serves
the nursing needs of Christian Scientists located primarily
within the surrounding six-state area.
Services Provided
Lynn House provides Christian Science nursing care to
patients who choose to rely exclusively on prayer for
healing and arrange for daily treatment from a Christian
Science practitioner listed in The Christian Science
Journal. Please note that charges for treatment from
a Christian Science practitioner are not included on
Lynn House invoices but are billed separately by the
practitioner.
Lynn
House offers the following nursing services:
Christian Science Nursing Care: for
those needing the nursing skills, judgment, and spiritual
readiness of a Journal-listed Christian Science nurse.
(Christian Science Nursing Care is covered by Medicare
for those eligible; it is also covered by some private
insurance companies.)
Christian Science Care: for those needing
lighter nursing care that can be given by a student
nurse. (Medicare does not cover this type of care; very
few insurance companies will pay for this category.)
Rest and Study: for those seeking a
healing atmosphere in which to pray and study, free
from intrusions of the world. We offer three meals a
day with access to our lovely grounds and to the library,
which has Concord, bound volumes, the Christian Science
Bible Lesson, and the Christian Science Monitor. (Rest
and Study guests should be completely independent, needing
no assistance or nursing care.)
Christian Science Visiting Nurse Service:
We are able to send Christian Science nurses from Lynn
House to private homes on a short term basis.
Outpatient Care: A Christian Science
Journal-listed nurse is available on a walk-in basis
for adults or children needing immediate care and assistance,
such as cleansing and bandaging. (Please call in advance
to let us know if you would like to use this service.)
Opportunities for Christian Science Nurses Training:
A ten-week introductory course is offered periodically
for those interested in exploring the possibility of
a Christian Science nursing vocation. (Please contact
Lynn House by mail or by phone for further information.)
Residential Assisted Living Program:
Please turn to the section called Assisted
Living for more details about this porgram.
